"... Our early searches were along the east coast then a business associate made a wise statement "Coast for show, inland for dough". After lots of late night discussions, we decided to put the emotion away and look at the return. After all, this was a business decision. Research showed Dubbo as a booming rural city. We contacted Mike Phipps Finance Brokers to be sure what our finances would allow and then contacted David Head from Tourism Brokers and outlined our requirements - Had to be more than 20 rooms (otherwise the balance of staff / you doing all the work gets tricky), had to be in Dubbo or surrounds, had to have good access for guests to have optimum experiences, preferably B&B, although restaurant was not out of the question, we wanted to purchase and settle before Christmas (this was September!) and of course, needed to be in our price range. David was heading o/s so Michael Philpott took over the search and arranged a group of inspections that fitted the bill. We inspected everything put forward with an open mind. Michael spent hours following us around, participating in discussions and stepping away when appropriate. He was open and honest and we felt confident in his professionalism. We met with city council personal, the tourism info staff and as many local as we could to get to a 'feel for the place'. Our experience everywhere we went in the area was positive, so with Michael as our guide and negotiator, he steered us through the process and on 30 November 2015 we became the proud leaseholders of the Shearing Shed Motor Inn Dubbo. With heartfelt gratitude for Tony Johnston Finally we are settled!!!  I just wanted to write with a HUGE thank you.  It's been one heck of a journey and I honestly don't think it would have happened if not for Tony. We met Tony in Hervey Bay when we listed our property, Santalina, with him and several other Agents.  We did eventually take it off the market - it really wasn't a good time to be selling, but as Tony was the only agent who had actually done any work other than just listing it on the internet, he was the only choice when we decided to sell Dolphin Waters. He found a buyer for the property fairly quickly - a time of rejoicing, and settlement was set for April 2015.  All the Due Diligence went through fine, until just before settlement, when the buyers lawyers discovered that an Extension Agreement hadn't been signed.  Everyone was in agreement that is was an oversight - someone in the Body Corporate office had a human moment.  It happens.  And the plan was to get the document signed and then ratified at an EGM.  So we were at stalemate.  The buyers wanted to buy.  We wanted to sell.  Our lawyers and the buyers' lawyers were both on the same page too.  If Tony hadn't jumped back into the fray at that time our banks would have foreclosed due to lack of security.  Everything we have worked for would have been lost.  Tony, independently consulted another lawyer and subsequently found a way around the stalemate.  He spoke with us, with the buyers, with all the lawyers involved, with the Body Corporate and brokered an agreement which, although not the best terms for anyone, was workable for everyone.  Throughout all this Tony kept the buyers' spirits up; helped them keep focus on the ultimate goal - buying Dolphin Waters; arranged several changes in purchase price commensurate with the various happenings and generally kept the ball rolling. There were a few hiccups before Settlement was finally able to go ahead, but I just wanted to say that we found Tony to be an amazing Agent who has gone over and above any expected level of service.  Without his work in bringing this sale to a good conclusion we would be in a disastrous position.  Mal and I would not hesitate, at any time, in recommending Tony with the highest possible gratitude and praise. We fell in love with the Pages River Caravan Park at Murrurundi, NSW. When the park came up for Auction we were in Queensland and did not want to travel to NSW for the Auction just to be outbid, so asked David if we could Skype. He readily agreed and during the Auction his wife held the laptop so that we could see what was going on.  Bidding on Skype and also being on the mobile at the same time was intense, but David's constant reassurance was much appreciated. We were the highest bidders and now own our perfect piece of real estate, now known as Murrurundi Caravan Park. We highly recommend David Head to any Vendor or Purchaser. He has great experience in the industry and really cares. He is softly persistent in that the purchaser doesn't feel pressured in any way, and gives great advice on the property or business, whether it be negative or positive, so that the purchaser has all the facts prior to making a decision. If we ever decide to sell the park, it would be David we would automatically ask to look after the sale.Doug and Carol
