Siteminder's Hotel Booking Trends

SiteMinder’s Hotel Booking Trends 2023 – Australia & New Zealand bought to you by RevenYou

Generating over 215 hotel bookings every minute, and 115 million a year, SiteMinder's platform contains the largest and deepest set of hotel booking data in the world - an analysis of the bookings made by travellers for hotels in 20 of the world's most established destinations. As SiteMinder's only Australia-based expert, RevenYou have been given exclusive access to a selection of additional information and assets to share with their valued clients.

In SiteMinders's Hotel Booking Trends for 2023, the three top trends shaping the Australian market have been identified as:

  • Consistent year-round arrivals ensured Australian properties were the least impacted by seasonal ‘highs’ and ‘lows’ globally.
  • As traveller confidence strengthened and the volume of travellers from the likes of New Zealand, the UK and US increased, the average booking lead time jumped to 37 days, almost five days longer than in 2019.
  • Despite growing by 38% since 2019, the average daily rate - the average revenue from each occupied Australian hotel room - increased by well below the global average as inflation cooled in the second half of the year.
